Everwood is absolutely lovely and charming! It is a stunning property. Bill and Chris do exceptional work promoting and supporting arts education through their programming at the farm. The barn houses lovely performances which are complete with a breeze through the sliding barn doors, fresh homemade cookies, and ample refreshments. They host many different genres of performances so there is really something for everyone. I can't say enough good about this place.

I have visited Everwood Farmstead multiple times over the years now and it's honestly a magical place for artists, performers and visitors alike. Events take place in a beautiful 100 year-old renovated barn located on a Wisconsin farmstead, a relaxing drive about 90 minutes outside the Twin Cities (MN).

Imagine getting out of your parked car and walking up to a beautiful barn with a large open door. You walk up to the door and are greeted by Everwood's owners Bill and Chris, who are friendly and open, welcoming you to the whole Everwood experience.

People picnic on blankets scattered through the large grassy yard, often with picnic baskets and bottles of wine. Visitors are invited to bring their own food and drinks to enjoy outside before shows start, and are welcome to remain outside to listen to performances under the stars if they wish. As dusk sets in, bonfires are lit and strands of white twinkling whites are turned on. People start to head inside the barn as showtime nears. And then the fun begins. Given the small space (maximum 100 seats, less so during the pandemic) visitors are treated to intimate experiences with actors, musicians and other artists. Audience members not only "bond" with the performers, but with their fellow audience members as well. There is a feeling of togetherness; everyone is welcome, the outside world is put aside and enjoying art is the focus of the evening.

I, myself, have attended multiple musical performances at Everwood and have absolutely loved every one. I've attended jazz, folk and country performances. Each performance was amazing. But to be honest, it's often more about the whole experience and less about the particular performer of the evening. Although admittedly yes, when a performer is particularly amazing, it's definitely primarily about seeing and listening to that one performer.

Bill & Chris have put together a pretty special place that brings together the local community, Wisconsin teachers, visitors driving in from the Twin Cities and artists from all around the world.

I highly recommend you look up Everwood if you're in WI or MN. It's definitely worth the drive and a visit. I believe most tickets sell out in advance, so check their website for events that might interest you (or join their newsletter, I know I tend to forget myself otherwise).

Separately, it's nice to know that Everwood is run by a Foundation and that 100% of event profits are shared between performers and grants to art teachers located throughout the state of Wisconsin.

I'm writing this review simply because I love the place. Everwood is ultimately a place that fosters support for the arts community in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. The support is not done from a distance, but in a very hands on manner that centers on community.

Note - Everwood, in addition to hosting performances, also hosts artist series/workshops throughout the summer, as well as artist residencies or retreats in the summer and fall. Check out their website for class offerings if you'd like to try your hand at a new form of art.

This venue is out in the country and worth the trip. It's a beautiful, restorative place. They bring in wonderful artists and provide support for arts education. Supporting this foundation is a great way to support nature and the arts.
