Let me just start off saying this place IS COMPLETELY HORRIBLE 😡 Yes they may have upgraded the apartments within... but the BED BUGS AND ROACHES AND MICE have became completely comfortable I wouldn't NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO LIVE THERE.. The people that live here are VERY NOSEY they STAY IN YOUR BUSINESS. The office staff also tells our people that live there your business as well. There is no privacy at the window because they allow the residents to loiter in the main area... Soon as you enter the building the residents bum bodge you with inappropriate questions that have NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM.. THIS PLACE IS DEFINITELY NOT A PLACE TO CALL HOME. Run don't walk when it comes to THINKING about making COOGAN TERRACE YOUR HOME 😡 .
OH and P.S. When you do leave you will definitely be leaving behind furniture and clothing do to the infestation of bed bugs and roaches.

Coogan Terrace is well maintained. It is conveniently located in downtown Melvindale. For friends and family coming to visit it is easy to find and get to from I-275 and other major roadways. The staff here is well versed in their work and strive to give they best they have to the residents. There are a variety of activities for residents to participate in - not only on the site itself but in Melvindale. The Melvindale Public Library is very close by and for those not able to make the trip regularly there are services provided. The place is kept neat and clean. The lobby has a modern look reminiscent of an arboretum and is an attractive sun room.

There is a courtyard in the back and property is bordered by the local school's athletic field as well as an attractive border of trees in a treeline along the rear of the property.

I am a resident at this location, and I'm happy to say that being a Melvindale citizen (A small City with a "BIG" heart!) I am pleased with the staffing, and my home, we have a place that I'm glad to call home. We have access to a library with computers, a community room, lunch on a daily basis if you wish, scupture landscaping, a lot of activities, and not to mention we can participate in Housing board meetings( public comments) Melvindale is a small City with a BIG heart 😇🤗...Ms. A Taylor

I have been a resident here at Coogan Terrace for 4(years) now and I have to admit that I am well pleased with my place of residency. We are about to undergo a Mass Renovation " A BRAND NEW LOOK!" and it's all contributed to the hard work of Our Executive Director Ms.Cynthia Telfer her staff, The Melvindale Housing Commission, and of course "THE WONDERFUL PATIENCE AND COOPERATION OF THE COOGAN TERRACE RESIDENTS!!! Yes we are a "Little city...but with a BIG HEART❤ and we are looking for Greater things in the City of Melvindale! A City that Prats together...Stays together! The New apartment are great,the garden went well this year but can do better on the water care. but some of the tenants are horrible,other don’t care how they live here. Need work on there Maintenace service.Get bad tenants out this place it get better.

I moved in Coogan Terrace in January of 2022, it's close to a year now and I'm finally feeling at home.
Newly renovated 1 bedroom apartment is Great!!!

The apartments are very nice.
However, There are some major and minor discrepcies that require some identification and merit concern.
Saff: Invasive, rumor spreading, and down right condesending. In many cases there strong ties to nepotism, theft from apartments. And down right invasion of privicy.

Drugs: I don't know if it is the family members that live there or is staff is involoved but bag transfers in the evening hours, by the same individuals and cars, anyone one see except the police and staff. Hmmmmm.

Residents: There is a clutch of seniors who make it their business to know yours. They lie about their neighbors, and foster a hostile environment. God forbid if you have a tiny dog. They cover their hands and want to pet your dog. Your dog licks your hands. That night your rushing your dog to Vet Emergency because your pet ingested a toxic substance. Really?

And the same neighbors are the ones falling asleep with lit cigarettes. Burning dry cereal in microwaves.

Oh yeah, no clear cut plan for evacuation in the event the Marathon Plant goes blooey.

Oh the security cameras are nothing but eyewash. To old and dim for anything else.

And if you trip and fall, they are not at fault. Not even for the medical bills.
