Calling for months. Told I needed to wait for one person to come back from vacation to schedule an appointment to TALK about helping me after 6 weeks of calling. They dont care that Im in danger. They didnt care we slept outside, hadnt eaten or anything. All the “help” you’re supposed to get when from these so called shelters and programs is a joke. It will only be a matter of time before someone gets killed waiting on help. The streets are the worst place for vulnerable women and children to be. They dint care if youre being looked for by your abuser. Just nope we dont have space. Do better. The positive reviews are from volunteers who should’nt be allowed to comment. No one cares how cool it was for you to volunteer when our lives are on the line.

As a volunteer, I absolutely love First Step and all they do for their clients. Their facility is so warm and welcoming and their staff is simply amazing! The annual gala that they hold is so fun, we love sponsoring and attending. Such a great organization!

I have been going back and forth with them since may when my ex tried to kill me. I need counseling. They will set up an apt and never call. Then it takes a month to get ahold of them again. It’s honestly sad that I feel everyone has failed me and idk who else to turn to, I figured maybe writing this review they would do better….. 🥺
