I had a terrible experience with trying to volunteer for this organization. My first initial reach out to volunteer was back in December of last year. I was scheduled to meet with a man over Zoom that evening. Unfortunately, he was a no-call, no-show...Another man reached out to me the beginning of March to set up another Zoom meeting to begin my volunteer work. We discuss some matters over the meeting. Mind you I did bring up my previous experience with his fellow co-worker. Throughout this meeting the guy thought I was already a previous volunteer for this organization...which confused me because that wasn't the case. So it's obvious that this organization has poor communication. At the end of the Zoom call the guy said that we will be meeting every Tuesday @ 7pm and he would send me the Zoom details for that upcoming meeting. Once again, I didn't receive no email regarding the meeting details, nothing! I reached out to him a couple days ago regarding my volunteer work and that I didn't hear anything from him regarding Tuesday meetings. It's been 5 DAYS NOW and still nothing!! I'm completely done trying to offer my FREE help for this organization! Overall, I believe this place to be very unprofessional and I WOULD NOT recommend doing any business nor volunteer work for them!! I'm highly disappointed in this organization considering everything they stand for. It's a shame.

If you want a welcoming, warm, enlightening experience, visit LGBT Detroit. Its one of the Jewels in our city. A Community Center that truly addresses the needs of our community by offering a safe space to build our vision for the future, by embracing Detroit's rich history of diversity, unity, wit and style. I was there tonight for the grand opening of LGBT Detroit's newly aquired second building and all that is what I felt. Congratulations Curtis. And thank you.

Only visited website. Seemed more youth oriented, and focused on getting donations.
