******LIARS, UNETHICAL, IMMORAL, MANIPULATIVE, PATHETIC, UNPROFESSIONAL, DISTURBING, DISGUSTING GUILT TACTICS ******
There's multiple reasons why I will NEVER be doing business with this company ever again. 1.I was sent home with a broken key & was promised a new one. Never got a call back. Got stranded when it broke off in my ignition the next day. 2. It took 6 hours to finish the process. 3.Jermaine lied to us about the cars worth. 4.The worst part was all the contact AFTER I had written several fair and honest reviews. They kept asking us for more information about a week AFTER the supposed "sale." I had written a review on their website and the following transpired.
Chris (manager in metamora) called me telling me that he read my review and he was upset. He said one of his employees recently took their life and he said he found them & was very upset. He then said "Words are so powerful and what if I had read that review and took my life because of it. (I said the process was slow and I was sent home with a broken key) Wouldn't you feel responsible for that?" He then asked me to take down my review because it left a "negative impression" on him personally. I was stunned and beyond disgusted that he would even say anything like that to me in an attempt to manipulate me into feeling bad for him so I would change my review. It was sick. He told me he'd give the car back and I said no I needed to speak to my husband first. We hung up and I went back to work. I received a text shortly after asking for my banking information. I didn't feel comfortable giving it to him or anyone else by then so I just texted back and said that if it was that big of a deal, just return my car & I'll cancel the contract & they could take the car back at that point. Basically I was agreeing with his earlier offer. I got a return text almost immediately informing me that the car had been junked. I was really upset because NONE of the paperwork had gone through with the bank at that time, so technically I didn't own the car and they didn't own mine. I then found out from my husband that the owner had been letting a family member drive the car that wasn't even legally theirs and they totaled it and ended up "junking" it.
So I got really upset and rewrote my review to accurately reflect my experience and included quotes from Chris and the other sales manager, Joe, at the Auburn Hills location. My husband and I then received a phone call. The manager, Joe, at the Auburn Hills location then contacted us in a weak attempt to "mitigate" the issues we had been having with Chris and Jermaine at the Metamora location. It got even worse. My husband and I were threated with blackmail that we wouldn't get our money back if we didn't take down our "slanderous" review. They also threatened to take us to court for slander in regards to my review. Which was beyond ridiculous given all I put at that point was "the process was slow and I was given a broken key." Apparently they consider that slander. Whatever. They also threatened and bullied him into trying to sign a "non disclosure agreement" stating if me, him or anyone we knew wrote a "bad review" that they were going to sue us. Sure. We were both fed up at that point so we called the police and explained everything they had said and done up until then. Half of it was illegal so they accompanied my husband up to the car lot to get our car back. Not one word was even mentioned about signing anything and they suspiciously didn't make any more threats. They did however delete my reviews from their personal websites.
I'm disturbed, beyond disgusted, appalled and just plain sick at the lengths they attempted to go to just to try and manipulate me into giving them a glowing review DESPITE the horrible treatment and severe lack of professionalism. NEVER in my life have I ever dealt with a business that sunk to these unethical measures. Please run far away if you see this business.
