They allow bullying . They allow the residents to bully people out of the shelter so people who desperately need food can't access meals there.

The kitchen staff do a great job and they don't get paid. Jake is awesome very kind! The rest seem to have their favorites and are not easily distracted to help people. Don't expect a shower leaking pipes 5 ppl nightly can get em. Not a bad place but if they made rules and enforced em it'd b a lil better I think. And make half the staff stop just trying to make friends and actually use their time to help ppl it'd b better. Thanks for the food anyway

Ok I go here in a weekly basis to eat lunch, the food is better than I expected. Free to anyone at noon to 12:50 everyday. Now as far as bed go there are never any available due to the large increase of people in need. That's not their fault but there are not really any other options. Also I was told I was on the section 8 waiting list for the last year turns out I wasn't even tho a caseworker said I was. That was very upsetting. But I finally did get a great caseworker. Who helped me take care of everything. So there are people who do work their butts off but some people don't know what they are doing.

It's okay because the food is usually ok. And they used to make it easy to get identification, but now its harder. And also for Ann Arbor the shelter is small and there is a waiting list to get in there.... Yes a waiting list for a emergency shelter. This is only addressing a small fraction of the homeless population. Ann Arbors has so much help for housing they just need a 300% larger shelter that is a immediate emergency shelter. All they would have to do is separate individuals based on behavior factors and keep control without losing the mission.

The staff actually cares. All the social workers actually do work. The food is tasty and nutritious. The beds are comfortable. They help with bus tokens. There's a Narcotics Anonymous mtg here on Sundays. Many of the staff are in recovery and can connect you with others in the recovering community. The AAATA bus comes right to the front door. This was the last house in the block, so to speak, for me and it's helped me get my life back!!

When in need I highly recommend you go to the Delonis.
Once, the staff sees you're serious about improving your situation, they become even more serious about aiding you. Traci is my case manager. She's the best!!
Please keep in mind, there are both good and bad staff where ever you may go.
