As someone who works in the legal field and owns a legal services company I am completely shocked by how Friends Outside represents themselves. I personally dealt with Kate who has the least amount of attention to detail to case deadlines, status of limitations etc. I dropped off an Unlawful Detainer case to serve on an inmate and was very clear on our deadline and told by Kate that it would be done same day. Halfway through the following day I reached out to Friends Outside as I heard nothing regarding the service. When I called at 1PM I received no answer. I then called the jail lobby to ask if they were in yet and told they were not. I then received a call back at just after 4PM to let me know that they are busy and will get it done at some point that day. For a company that comes into their office hours after they are open I am not shocked that they are busy, but that does not excuse the lack of professionalism. If a company opens at a certain time, you should have someone in that office at that time. When I went to pick up the proof of service on my case I ran into one problem after the other. Kate likes to base how they operate on how other process serving companies do and not off of California law or regulations. She consistently brought up another company in my area to try and use them as an example when all that does is show me what company to never send my work to. After I finally got my proof of service Kate decided to let me know that they would not be doing any more serves for me. This goes to show just how little these people care, especially when they are the only ones allowed to personally go into the jail to serve inmates. Needless to say, there are other ways of getting an inmate served and I would much rather spend more time to do that than to deal with Friends Outside and have to step foot in there unsanitary and fire hazard of an office. I wish them all the best, but will not be using their service until they can get some adequate individuals in this office.

Kate is the most compassionate and professional adovcate . She took the time to do the Power of attorney documents we needed to care for our family members needs. She went over and above. Her demeaner and kindness made us feel at ease during a difficult time. From Texas with love.
