The CalCenter organization has exceptional free civic education programs for Sacramento Youth. With my participation in the Green Focus Program and the Youth Advisory Group, I learned how to become civically engaged, collaborate with community members, and how to draft and advocate for institutional change. I highly recommend becoming involved with the CalCenter For Civic Participation and donating if possible!

CalCenter has been a really good experience for me in learning skills in the real world and how to apply them to social issues in our communities. I've learned about politics, environmental policy, and most importantly how to grow as a young leader and voice in the world. I have grown in skills important in the real world such as communication, creative thinking, problem-solving and self-awareness. I have also gotten really great advice from my mentor in this program who has supported me through my experiences as a young person and so I recommend this program if you need any help with your growth as a youth. I really appreciate all the work CalCenter has done with young people and the programs that are great for learning about real world issues and how to take action as a young leader.
