Hello!

My family highly recommends Coronado Retirement Village as a wonderful place for our 89-year-old mother to live.

She has her own private room with a large window, private bathroom and shower, and it's situated in the beautiful scenic Coronado Island overlooking the Coronado Bay Bridge.

We receive excellent service from the staff, and the dining has many options.

I am more than grateful with the whole team at Coronado Retirement Village! My father moved here back in December 2022 it was one of the hardest decisions I had to make but was the best one for the well-being of my dad.

Since day one the team was amazing. At first I was worry questioning my decision but the team specially Martha walk me step by step with the transitioning process, she really makes you feel like not only the resident but their family matters. She is an Angel!

There is no words to thank the staff members, my dad was under weight when he first moved, his mood was always low. He is healthy and happy now, he dance and sings (first time in my life that I see him enjoying music like this). He tells jokes now, he is so calm.
With his condition I know how important is to have a good support system and I feel him and myself found that at Coronado Retirement. They always communicate with me, I go once or twice per week to visit my dad different days and hours and it feels so good to go there and see that every day is the same, staff members doing their best to provide a good care.

Everyone always so caring and sweet! I can tell is not just a business, is a place that residents can call HOME.

I have the opportunity every time I go to see and talk to other residents and they all seem so peaceful and happy. The food is amazing, the activities so fun like bingo, movie time etc (unfortunately my dad can't play due to his dementia) but whenever they have live music he loves to be in the patio just enjoying the show.

I have a family member who has been residing at Coronado Retirement Village for three years and the care which he has received has been exceptional. The staff including the administrator, med techs, personal care givers, housekeeping and those assisting in the dining room have all been exceptional and we are on a first name basis which makes it feel like family.

The location of the facility is conveniently located across the street from Sharp Coronado hospital and various medical offices. It also is adjacent to Tidelands park which has great views of the bay.

This facility is nicely decorated and offers a large outdoor patio area which is nicely furnished to enjoy the fresh air or to enjoy a picnic lunch. No institutional feel here whatsoever.

I am not submitting this review as an advertisement but only to share my sincere personal experience with this facility.

As many of you know or will learn, finding a retirement home for a loved one is a very daunting and challenging task. So many things to consider namely quality of care, services, staffing, communication, location, etc. My Father moved into CRV almost 2 years ago and my Mother 6 months ago. I will keep this simple and to the point.

#1 No place will ever replace "Home", the fact that someone is now dependent on others for care and safety is never a simple nor easy transition.
#2 The staff who care for my parents are very kind, patient, caring and compassionate. CRV has done an excellent job in hiring true caregivers.
#3 The operations team led by Liz and Martha are also kind and caring. From the reception to the med tech team and everyone else they have been great at calling me, keeping me up to date, answering ?s and partnering with me on my parents needs.
#4 The activities are fantastic. My Dad is very social and I can't think of another place where he could be that offers so many activities. From morning until dinner, my Dad has hourly scheduled activities, excursions, services including, bingo, blackjack, arts/crafts, etc that keep him busy and active. My Mom and Dad can choose what to do each day and the staff encourages them to participate. CRV never misses a chance to celebrate holidays, live entertainment and so many options.
#5 The Dining Hall is fantastic. The food is delicious and residents have the option of the daily specials, salad bar or to order a sandwich, burger, etc. On days when my parents want to take it slow the staff brings their meals to their room.

I know in my heart that the care and services my Mom and Dad receive at CRV are the best available for my parents in the Golden Years.

My parents are very happy at CRV. They have been there for 4 months. They like the environment, the food and, especially the staff. They can hardly walk at the beginnnig. Now, they loves to walk along the beautiful water front. They look younger, healthier and happier. We are very pleased.

My love one lived at Coronado Retirement Village for nearly one year. Making the decision to move a loved one into an assisted living facility could be one of the most difficult and complex decisions you can make. It certainly was incredibly hard for me, and for my loved one. Fortunately, my loved one was not only able to help in studying the pros and cons, but was able to give a thumbs-up assessment to eventually go forward with the move.
Like real estate decisions, we placed a great deal of weight on location, and better locations than Coronado would be tough to find. Coronado Retirement Village (CRV) is superbly located on the Island, immediately off the Bridge, just across the street from the outstanding Sharp Coronado Hospital, and next door to a first rate Sharp-run skilled nursing facility.
The CRV ownership and management have placed a great emphasis on their building and grounds, which are very well cared for, up-to-date, and agreeable. Safety and cleanliness were continually important to them, but became central and imperative with COVID-19. The wellbeing of the residents and staff stays at the top of all their decisions. As a final point, there are a number of CRV staff members from across disciplines that I could perhaps single out as being consistently excellent, and caring, but I won't do that for fear of forgetfully not including one of those deserving "angels".

The Coronado Retirement Village is a Wonderful place! It is located in Beautiful Coronado and has an Amazing staff that is helpful, understanding, caring, compassionate and professional. My mother lives there, and I am so Grateful to have found it! Moving to the Coronado Retirement Village has helped her immeasurably. Title: A Shocking Tale of Neglect and Abuse: Coronado Retirement Village Review

I am writing this scathing review to shed light on the abysmal conditions and disgraceful treatment my grandfather endured at Coronado Retirement Village. The horrors he faced under their care are beyond comprehension, and it is my duty to warn others about the appalling reality lurking behind the façade of this facility.

First and foremost, the staff at Coronado Retirement Village exhibited a shocking level of negligence and abuse towards my beloved grandfather. It is with immense sorrow and anger that I recount the events that led to his life-threatening battle with urosepsis. The incompetence and disregard for his well-being were evident as non-licensed staff members recklessly administered inaccurate medications, leading to grave consequences for his health. To add insult to injury, they callously mishandled the placement of catheters, causing immense pain and further complications.

As a concerned and distraught family, we attempted to intervene and advocate for our grandfather's rights, only to be met with resistance and hostility from Coronado Retirement Village. They went to great lengths to deny our access to him, depriving him of the support and comfort he desperately needed during such a distressing time. This callous act demonstrated a blatant disregard for basic human decency and exposed the heartless nature of the management.

Moreover, the lengths to which Coronado Retirement Village went to silence and intimidate our family are both despicable and unforgivable. Rather than taking responsibility for their heinous actions, they resorted to threats of retaliation if we dared to expose their abuse. This behavior is not only morally reprehensible but also raises serious concerns about the culture and ethics within the facility.

Coronado Retirement Village claims to provide compassionate and professional care for its residents, but my grandfather's traumatic experience unequivocally proves otherwise. The physical and emotional toll this ordeal has taken on him and our entire family is immeasurable. The gross negligence and abuse he endured are a disgrace to the healthcare industry and a betrayal of the trust placed in the hands of Coronado Retirement Village.

I implore anyone considering Coronado Retirement Village as a potential residence for their loved ones to think twice. The facility's complete disregard for the safety, dignity, and well-being of its residents is utterly abhorrent. No person should ever have to endure the suffering that my grandfather experienced under their supposed "care."

It is my sincere hope that this review serves as a warning to others, prompting them to explore alternative options and avoid subjecting their loved ones to the horrors of Coronado Retirement Village. The mistreatment, abuse, and threats we endured have forever tainted our perception of this facility, and we cannot in good conscience allow others to fall victim to their callousness and negligence.

May justice be served, and may the truth about Coronado Retirement Village's abhorrent practices be exposed for the sake of all vulnerable individuals who may unwittingly cross their path.
