I called the number for Palm Desert Catholic Charities Office; I needed help to avoid an eviction on my record. They told me to call an Indio office of Catholic Charities. A young lady "explained" two programs to me - I do not qualify for either of these she told me. When I read back to her what she told me she told me I had misunderstood her. Ok. Please start over. She read a program title. I asked for the list of qualifications for that program. The part where the "confusion" happens: "your application is viewed and approved on a case by case" basis. I ask, so it's up to whoever "takes the application" to "case by case" decide who gets help. We go in circles. She keeps repeating "case by case". I get it.

I have to have a job to prove I won't need help again. I have to have only needed help in the past 21-30 days.

I can't be a person who has had a chronic health or personal or family problem that has caused difficulties for more than a few weeks.
