If you need medical transport, Day Lite, CHG's contractor, is safer. I would ask for them. CHG itself seems to overbook their drivers. My first ride was late, but couldn't contact me because she was driving. CHG should have relayed this information to me.
My first return driver left in less than 5 minutes. This is not acceptable, being patients are often elderly and disabled, or staff have to bring patients out in wheelchairs after anesthesia due to liability. There we were on the sidewalk, the nurse and I, with my ride gone!
In both instances, I had to call and straighten out my transport. No communication from CHG.
My second return driver had something wrong with the wheel of their car. Constant shaking. The driver never drove under 75 mph on the freeway, sometimes over 80 mph, while following too closely. Pretty scary.
I'm grateful for the service, but CHG seems to be cutting corners with scheduling, communication, and training of its drivers. Hire contractors or use taxi companies if you can't provide reliable and safe transportation.

This managed care plan failed my father. He was hospitalized on 3/19 and has been in the hospital and skilled nursing facility until today, 8/23/2024. Last night, my father was informed he needed to be out of the skilled nursing facility today due to insurance denying additional days. Being a managed care plan in the state of California, CHG failed this member. Not only failed to reach out to coordinate any type of care, transition of care, discharge etc. this caused emotional Distress on my father and put him in a panic wondering how he was going to get back home with so many chronic conditions and still open wounds. CHG member services department were less than helpful and told me to file a grievance rather than help with the acute medical needs TODAY. What happened to coordination of care? What happened to assessing for social determinants of health? Access and barriers to care? CHG DO BETTER! I'm glad my dad has me to help navigate the healthcare system. How many members don't have someone knowledgeable or willing to step in and do the managed care plan's job?

I did a review 2 yrs ago on Comm Health Group and gave it 5 stars. Now I'm giving it 1 star. Maggie, that answers the phones, gets 5 stars, everything and everyone else gets 1 star. My caseworker Carlos talks a great game if you can ever get ahold of him. I left 20 voicemails over a 3 month span, and he never called back. The primary physician providers that are listed in their directory, are the bottom of the barrel. The first one, took a paper from my shoulder surgeon that needed to be signed off so I could get reconstructive surgery, and threw it in with other papers behind the receptionist counter, and went off and had surgery on her own back. No signing it, or having another Dr. sign it. Then I have a Telehealth appt with her, and she never calls. So I stick with that medical group,(Family Health Centers), but switch Dr.'s. My first appt with the new one, Dr. Perez is at 4:30. I walked in at 4:31, and they said we can't see you, you're late. So Family HG is out. Next one is Dr Mondragon med group. I had an appt for a month, I arrive and they don't have me anywhere in their computer, so they can't see me. Third group is Gateway Medical Group, I have that appt for 2 weeks, I arrive and they tell me the Dr. is broke down on the freeway with a flat tire, and by the time he gets here, it will be time for him to see the patient that's scheduled after me. So he won't be able to see me. These are the provider choices that Community Health Group offers you.
Then I set up transport with them to take me to La Jolla for a Melanoma cancer surgery removal, and their transport company doesn't show
So I call a friend, give him $20 for gas and $6 for parking to take me to this very important appt. In their literature, it states, if the driver doesn't show, we will refund what it cost for you to get there. They refuse to do so now.
Last, I've been told for 2 months tat I have a new caseworker. She's never called one time, and don't ever have them transfer you to a supervisor, because they're never there. This place has gotten so bad.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been with them for 10 years. I need to switch.

It's fantastic, but you may have to go through several Dr's before you find one that you are happy with and works the best for you.

Should have questioned that the rep came door to door. Took a survey which enrolled my brother without my consent, and then the constant calling started trying to get us to use their services. Now a letter promising approved services. I called Medicare fraud, and she explained how plans like this work. We're staying with original Medicare.
