A number of years ago both my parents needed caregivers. We were are stressed to the max. A friend recommended Southern Caregiver and frankly my first reaction was, "I don't need one more thing to do." I was thinking it might be some sort of support group. She assured me it was an information resource, and she had been extremely pleased with the service. We were too. My husband, brother, and I made an appointment. Facts were gathered and we were provided information to help with the decisions we were making. We were especially appreciative of the recommendation of an elder attorney who helped us with legal matters. We were able to take it from there and only visited once, but we did receive follow-up to see how things were going. Thanks, Southern Caregiver, for making our journey easier, not easy mind you, just easier.

Southern caregiver resource center has been the best find for us these few years. Because of them I am not going crazy caring for Mom. They have given me time to get away and just sing out loud in my car. And I don’t care who hears! 🤗

I take care of my husband 86 yrs old with severe dementia. He was sick and I took care of him with a respiratory infection and caught it myself. I was so weak, trying to take care of him, not being able to sleep, I got so tired I felt like I could die. They said as the organization to pay my regular caregiver and they would pay for 5 days, so I hired her and went and stayed in a hotel for 2 days to rest. The center then told me they could not pay a regular private caregiver. So I am stuck with the bill for the caregiver 24 hours for 2 days and and the hotel. Guess there is no help for caregivers in this world. You just have to take care of your loved ones till you drop over dead.
