Conveniently located off the 580 Freeway on Redwood Road, this is a great venue for performing arts. Went for a dance/drama performance and had a great experience. Friendly staff and great amenities.

Very clean and modern theater for live performances. The capacity is 516, so it is a very intimate experience. We saw James Garner tribute to Johnny Cash, and it was phenomenal. No food or drink is allowed in the show, but at intermission, they sell water and fresh baked cookies to help the high school fund raiser.
2023 update: Theater is well maintained. They are doing a great job of keeping it clean and well kept with their fundraising efforts. We enjoyed CC Carter and his band. They were phenomenal. They served BBQ with optional beer, wine and sodas on the patio prior to the show.

Small enough not a bad seat in the house. Could have a better range of talent/shows but older generations tend to drive and support this theater. We need a younger generation of season ticket supporters in order for the board of directors to select more "hip" shows. Sample photos from The Sun Kings (a Beatles tribute band), Mama Mia (CVHS production), and Pasquale Esposito (Italian tenor).

Let's say "Liked it+". Definitely a high school auditorium, but it certainly beats seeing a play or performer in the high school gym as I used to do back in the '70s. The sound was decent/ not great, but the show was very good (well worth a ticket in the $40 -$55 bracket). Show wasn't sold out =no trouble finding a parking place; therefore, difficult to judge parking capacity had there been a "full house". Would I go there again? Yes. And it was nice to have a venue close to Hayward (it was Castro Valley).

Very clean, well maintained 500 seat theater with up to date equipment. It was built for & primarily serves the Castro Valley School District. However, it is rented to outside groups & outside talent is engaged by the CV Arts Foundation. Disclosure: I serve on the Foundation Board.

Nice small local theater to see a play or a musical event. The seating is pretty comfortable and the rest of the facility is fairly up to date. You know, decent size lobby and restrooms.

A nice theater with very nice plays musicals and talks. By far the best play I have seen was Peter and the star catcher, at the cfa. professionals come in, and also student performers.
