Was cold, afraid, and alone in a place where I had never been before. I had slept out in the cold rain with no shelter the night before. When I came into contact with Bridge to home, they luckily had 1 bed available, which was shocking because they usually had no vacancies from what I had been hearing. THE STAFF made me feel welcomed and cared for as I sat down for my 1st dinner..I was given hygiene products, clothing, and shoes. Everything I needed. I didn't mind showering in a portable shower or using port o pottys at all.
The rooms were kept nice by other residents and everything was neat and clean.
The only problem I had was when a resident who has severe mental issues freaked out on me and when I told the staff I was ignored..It seems they turn their head to alot in there but with all the people coming and going I can see why it'd be hard to deal with everyone on an individual basis.
I am very grateful this place exists. I am now in Northen California in my own place with a vehicle. I am grateful for Bridge to Home and their employees and volunteers

“I recently had an encounter at Bridge To Home in Newhall, California, which left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. While I acknowledge the importance of their mission in serving the homeless population in the Santa Clarita Valley, I had a negative experience that I want to share.

During a visit, I had to follow up on a grievance I filed with the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority, and unfortunately, the situation escalated when a staff member physically escorted me out of the facility. This incident was both distressing and unacceptable.

Moreover, I felt that there was a retaliatory response from Bridge To Home, as they refused to provide further assistance. This created unnecessary obstacles for me and my friends and family who have been seeking their services.

I believe in the importance of the services Bridge To Home provides, but it’s crucial for them to maintain professionalism and respect in all interactions with clients. I hope they can address these issues and improve their services for the benefit of the homeless community they serve.”

They helped me a lot, but.... When I was staying at the shelter, as a single white, sober male. I was assaulted by another resident. In front of security, and they did nothing. They actually asked me to leave because the guy who hit me was someone they knew. I wouldn't let my mom or sister go there.

The services they offer can really help someone. I am giving them 1 star not for the services they offer but for the people that "work" their, some staff do their jobs correctly but some do not. The staff lie. Obviously no one will take complaints seriously either. There are "complaint forms" which I wouldn't be surprised if they were just thrown out or in bridge to homes terminalogy "lost". Staff "lose" clients paperwork all the time, they "lose" clients belongings as well! And that is what happened to me tonight, Clients make appointments and guess what The appointment times even get "lost" too! You know, there are doors that are broken, showers that are broken, there is bacteria just building up for like so long and u can almost 100% guarantee these things won't be fixed. And guess what you come here now and they aren't. And you know how long they have been telling the clients that these things would be fixed A year maybe longer. Yeah, this is the truth. I've been here over a year so there's no exaggeration. They don't know how to budget. If you're reading this ask Bridge To Home how many people they house a year. I pray that the HEALTH DEPARTMENT pays Bridge To Home a visit at the shelter too!! The shelter is in Newhall at the cross streets of Drayton and Railroad (directly across from the Waste Management)

Bridge to home helped my family with clothes, referrals, job leads, housing leads and even paid my deposit, first and last months rent. Our family was given a second chance. However, Family Promise was our Godsend!

My name is David Moore... I just met with two young lady's... One Miss Deseree and, one Miss Joey... Both young lady's were so very kind and incredibly sweet to come out and help me register. Not only were they both kind and sweet... They were also absolutely beautiful... Young and drop dead gorgeous... I could not have spent time anywhere better...
I am so greatful to them both!!! And Joey.... Yeah she was beautiful in ever since of the word... When she smiled she lit up the drab world....
