Original north-facing Medieval church prominently located on a the top of an incline extensively restored over centuries with a dominant ( effectively a new church ) extension added in 1957.
The unadorned older section with flint stone exterior, the earliest vestigial fabric dating back to the late C11.
The interior includes even older remnants and accoutrements.
The approach along the pathway paved with tombstones from Church Hill towards the “old church” on the perimeter of the extensive graveyard, a timeless, evocation of an English archetype .
..” Here could I hope, like some inquiring child
Sporting on graves, that death did hide from human sight
Sweet secrets, or beside its breathless sleep.
That loveliest dreams perpetual watch did keep.” *

A fairly typical parish church with a pleasant interior. Often used as a venue for musical performances. The "old church" part of it is very old and of historic interest

Never actually been inside but it's a nice building to walk around with an interesting original cemetery & 3 or so extensions to the Norman? original. Quite extensive! Modern extension cemetery plus Commonwealth War Graves component opposite. Canadian (originally Ontario) Graves prominent. Site of Canadian Military Hospital.

Beautiful church, with the older part dating back to 10th century.
Got married in the older part, and Brian McHenry, our brilliant and lovely Vicar, made our Marriage service the best it could have been!
Church looks especially lovely for certain services during the year. Volunteers work hard to achieve this.
Well worth going!

Very friendly place to worship. The Director of Music is exceptional and has developed the choir very professionally.
