Plum Street Garden apartments has been a wonderful place to live. Their staff is on top of it and super helpful. Glenda Thomas, the new property manager, has been absolutely wonderful! Maintenance requests get solved in a timely manner and the service is top notch. I would recommend this complex.

I really like Plum Street Garden Apartments. My initial impression of the facility and the on-site staff is warm and welcoming. The grounds are bright, colorful, and well maintained. All sorts of plants, shrubs and even beautiful tall palm trees are spread throughout the spacious common area in and around the units; evidence that they really care about the property where people call home.

While I was there interviewing with the on-site manager, I felt very comfortable. Sheryl is nice and made me feel welcome. Unfortunately, there just happened to be a pluming problem with an outside water line but she handled it calmly and worked with the contractor while still giving me her full attention; a real professional in my book.

And as for the area, I love Capitola and the location is just perfect. Well established neighborhood, close to the daily staples, freeway, and less than a mile from the Village. What more could you ask for.

I went with my partner (both of us are POC) to look at the complex as a prospective resident. Upon driving into the parking lot, we were followed closely by an older white woman in a green Honda CR-V. Upon leaving, she continued to follow us all the way to Capitola Beach - even when we got out of the car to go to a shop. She circled the block several times, looking at me directly in the eye, and even stopped to record my license plate, while stopped in the middle of the street, blocking traffic.

After we drove off and left the area, she continued to follow us all the way to 41st Street, where she double-parked right next to where we were parked on the street. She then confronted us, asking if we were residents (claiming to be a resident herself), and admitting that she was suspicious of us for potentially stealing her car. When we countered back and asked why she was suspicious, she ignored the question and tried to convince my partner to live there.

After this experience of harassment, stalking, and attempted intimidation, it has been made clear by one of the residents (possibly a property manager?) that we, as people of color, are not welcome in this apartment complex.

Sweet upper village apts. Manager has been easygoing and area is great. Very attentive manager and maintenance. Great location in capitola. Totally remodeled and quaint.
